Our Story

Ever had life knock the wind out of you so hard, you weren’t sure if you’d stand back up? That’s where our shared journey began. Nature in a Picture may be an art company now, but it started as a lifeline—a way for us to channel our chaos into something tangible, meaningful, and (we hope) calming for anyone who experiences it.

We’ve both walked through fire, shaped by the same war and living with PTSD ever since. One of us was knee-deep in agronomy and plant science, juggling research by day and sleepless nights by… well, also by day if we’re honest. Even the simple act of waking up felt like climbing Everest. Despite that, dreams of escaping to South America for a fresh start kept flickering in the background—until reality proved that sometimes, a change of scenery doesn’t always spark the passion you expect.

Meanwhile, my cousin- a banker, also carrying the same baggage from that war, took a turn for the worst. Saying that the daily grind behind a desk lost its appeal would be an understatement. We both craved something more—something that would let us breathe again and maybe even bring a little tranquility into this messy, foggy world.

That’s when we clung to an idea we’d once brushed aside: print-on-demand. Before AI, it was daunting. Hiring designers for every concept? Way out of reach. But suddenly, technology caught up with our imaginations, and we dove into creating. When a stranger actually bought one of our early designs, that spark of validation lit a bigger flame. If one person connected with our work, why not a hundred more?

There’s something about puzzles that just feels right. In a frantic world, piecing them together invites you to pause, find calm in the process, and immerse yourself in an image that can—just for a moment—quiet all the noise.

But Nature in a Picture isn’t just about selling puzzles. It’s about capturing those fleeting moments of stillness that you wished could have stayed forever. Whether it’s a sunset on the beach, a jump of a whale out of the water, or dreamlike meadow that is far gone in memory. Even the darker images hold a sort of tranquility when you truly gaze into them.

Just like a song, you might not catch every word, or connect with it but you can still feel something stir inside, and have the melody draw you into it.

By sharing our story, we want you to know: this isn’t just a business for us, it’s part of our healing. Every design we bring to life is a piece of our journey—two cousins, one wish.

If our art can help you find a sliver of that calm too, then we’ve done what we set out to do.

Because in a world that often feels like it’s on fire, a little spark of peace can make all the difference — and that is worth creating for.
